Description

Student Involvement & Leadership Development is pleased to invite you to our 10th annual NIU Volunteer Fair being held on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 pm at Northern Illinois University! This event will take place in the Art Gallery Lounge in the Holmes Student Center and will be a part of NIU's Welcome Day's- Involvement Fair. The Volunteer Fair offers table space for community organizations to display and speak to students about volunteer opportunities your agency may have available. Student organizations with missions geared toward service will be present as well.

The fair will give your organization the opportunity to recruit NIU students to volunteer for your organization. The Volunteer Fair is also an important tool for our students to learn about community resources in addition to volunteer openings that are available within our community.

The Volunteer Fair is a great opportunity for our students to not only gain first-hand information regarding all the volunteer possibilities in the greater DeKalb area, but also to continue building the momentum toward NIU Cares Day 2016 (Saturday, April 16, 2016), our day-long, campus-wide volunteerism event that takes place throughout DeKalb County.

Volunteerism and service are community-based initiatives, and for that reason, the Fair cannot be a success without the involvement of DeKalb area service organizations such as yours!

The Department of Student Involvement & Leadership Development firmly believes in the value of service to one's community and has thus incorporated community service as a component of the Department's focus.
